How to search

Q: How does REFUNITE help refugees trace their loved ones?

Refugees missing family, friends or relatives, can search, connect and communicate via these access points:

  • Visit refunite.org from a mobile phone or a computer.
  • Call our international number +1 (313) 241-7770 from anywhere in the world.

Furthermore, we provide our service via help lines and USSD in selected countries:

  • Call one of our toll free numbers:
    • From Kenya dial 0800 724 882 (free for Safaricom subscribers)
    • From Uganda dial 0800 300 100 (free for Airtel Uganda subscribers)
    • From DRC dial 62014 (free for subscribers of Vodacom DRC)
  • Dial one of these numbers from a mobile phone (also known as ‘USSD short codes’). The service offers users to search, create a profile, register the people they are looking for and exchange messages across the platform.
    • In Kenya: *883#
    • In DRC: *6213#

Our global platform and search tool is updated constantly to maximize the chances of reconnecting separated loved ones.
