Changes on the Board of Refugees United, new Chairwoman and new Interim CEO.
On the Refugees United Foundation board meeting in Copenhagen on August 16th, several changes were put into effect that we are pleased to inform you about:
Steen Halbye, Chairman of the Board, ended his successful 2-year period and stepped down from his position. Having helped steer Refugees United to great reach and impact, the Foundation thanks Steen for his dedication and hard work throughout his term.
Kristin Parello-Plesner, CSR manager PFA, was appointed new Chairwoman, and the Foundation warmly welcomes her onboard. Her strategic insight and strong background in governance will sharpen Refugees United’s ability to help lead the way in reconnecting separated families across the world.
Founding board member Peter Mads Clausen also stepped down after 3 successful years, having contributed considerably to the development of the foundation through his expertise.
Javier Alvarez, founding partner of Delta Partners, joined the board of Refugees United, as did Dorte Broen from the Danish Foreign Ministry.
Founders David and Christopher Mikkelsen have chosen to leave their positions as CEOs of Refugees United and instead assume board seats. Both will continue working in the organization full-time, but will now also focus heavily on the strategic development of Refugees United at board level. Until a new CEO is appointed, COO Mikael Jensen will serve as interim CEO.
