An innovative project helps 26,000 refugees in northern Ecuador

An innovative registration initiative has resulted in 26,000 Colombian refugees receiving identity documents in an isolated region of northern Ecuador. Our new and redesigned website
After 6 months of hard work we are happy (and quite proud) to present version 2 of the Refugees United search engine. We’ve taken everything we’ve learned from more than a year of running an online forum that helps empower refugees to directly reconnect with missing loved ones, and poured it into this improved version. Today we feel it’s ready for public viewing. It’s still, in some ways, a beta version, and unfortunately at the moment it is only available in English. I am looking for my sister, Sabrina Sanders Hines. She found me about 10 yrs ago and since then we lost contact. She lived in Chelsea,AL when i met her and was married to Kerry Hines and had two kids at that time. Her mother’s name is Betty and her father is Johnny Sanders. Any help is greatly appreciated. I would really love to find her again! She should be 31 or 32 years old. I have some of the relatives names which include: Johnny Ray Sanders, Steven Sanders and her kids Triston Hines and Charity Hines! Thanks

Uganda: Umaru Swaray, ‘Alone and Isolated by Other Refugees’
Nakivale — Umaru Swaray, 33, was a child soldier during Liberia’s civil war. Separated from his family, he walked for months crossing the continent to Uganda, searching for his family, who had escaped the war. He found them in Kampala in 2004 – on the day they were leaving for the Netherlands. Swaray’s parents and nine brothers had been granted refugee status by the Dutch government but their reunion came too late for him.
